工党妇女事务发言人苏∙莫若妮（Sue Moroney）质问说，新生儿父母有薪产假是工党的成果，国家党竟想居为已有，妇女部长是为此而难堪呢，还是她太疏忽而不吱声？

“黄部长向联合国报讯表功，声称去年国家党增加了新生儿父母的带薪产假，实际上却是工党在2005年推行增加有薪产假的，当时国家党还投票反对此项举措。”

苏莫若妮说：“新生儿父母的有薪产假是关系到千家万户的大事，相信国家党是一心想抹去他们曾投票反对此议案的耻辱纪录，但因此而向联合国提交虚假信息，实在也太难堪了。”

苏∙莫若妮指出，在妇女部向联合国报功的单子中，11项大成就都是工党执政的成果。而黄部长当年恰恰针对11项中的10项投的是反对票。如今她却把（自己当初反对的）这些当作新西兰的成就报给联合国。

苏∙莫若妮还说：“把不确信息报给联合国，或许只有黄部长还笑得出来，而她现实中的政绩，没有丝毫可博人一笑之处。国家党政府在男女平酬、失业问题或任何影响到女性的议题方面毫无作为。”

Is Pansy Wong embarrassed by the National Party record on paid parental leave or just sloppy? 

“Is the Minister of Women’s Affairs so embarrassed by her Party’s efforts on women’s issue that she has taken to stealing Labour’s record or is she just a bit sloppy?” Labour’s spokesperson for Women’s Affairs, Sue Moroney asked.

“It is an embarrassing blunder for Pansy Wong to have submitted information to the United Nations claiming that National increased paid parental leave last year, when in fact the increase occurred in 2005 and National voted against increasing paid parental leave,” Sue Moroney said.

“I realise that paid parental leave is a hugely important issue for families and I am sure National wish they could wipe away the shame of having voted against it, but providing dodgy information to the United Nations is simply embarrassing.

“The 11 landmark achievements also crowed about in information supplied to the United Nations by the Ministry of Women’s Affairs all occurred under Labour. Pansy Wong voted against all but one of the legislative landmarks yet she will now go and present them to the UN as New Zealand’s achievements.

“While Pansy Wong might be able to laugh off the fact that incorrect information was supplied regarding her record on women’s issues, the reality is her real record of achievement has no one laughing.

“The National Government have done nothing to advance pay equity, unemployment or any other issue that affects women,” Sue Moroney said.
