Shakti Community Council Inc. is a non-profit, community organization, providing social services to Asian, African and Middle Eastern communities in New Zealand. We have vacancies as follows:
WOMEN’S ADVOCATE(2 full-time positions)
Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Past experience of working with women’s organizations would be an advantage, but training will be provided.
Skills Required:
Have a passion to work with women and children
Be able to work as part of a team as well as individually
Be multi-lingual (preferably know Hindi/ Punjabi, apart from English)
Computer skills, Telephone skills, Administration skills
Be able to work in a cross cultural environment
Be able to advocate for women's issues and women’s rights
Able to write reports
Full driving license preferred.

Basic understanding of managing a team
Be multi-lingual (preferably know at least one Asian/Middle Eastern language besides English)
Computer skills, Telephone skills, Administration skills
Be able to manage a cross cultural team
Be able to advocate for women's issues and women’s rights
Able to meet contractual obligations / reporting writing skills
Full driving license preferred.

REGIONAL COORDINATOR
This is a regional position, based in Auckland. Remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Though past experience of having worked in women’s organizations in New Zealand/overseas will be an advantage, appropriate training will be provided to the right candidate.
Skills Required:
People management skills
Able to advocate for women's issues and human rights
Preference will be for candidate with educational background either in Women & Gender Studies, Law, Counseling, Social Policies or Social Work
Should ideally have a women-centric perspective
Have decision-making skills
Be able to coordinate and manage a team, regionally
Be able to coordinate crisis work
Be multi-lingual (with knowledge of at least one Asian/Middle Eastern language apart from English)
Computer skills, good telephone manners
Ability to network with other organisations
Be able to coordinate activities in a cross cultural environment
Be able to work under pressure and meet contractual obligations
Be able to write reports
Full driving license preferred
